MIDEM and MIPIM Approaching
Cannes ready for 2026
For the fourth year in a row, Cannes has been named the world’s best conference city.
With MIDEM, the Festival des Jeux and MIPIM approaching, the year starts as it always does here: busy, crowded, and unmistakably alive.
Within weeks, hundreds of thousands of visitors descend on a town of barely seventy thousand inhabitants. Hotels, B&Bs and restaurants fill up quickly, and traffic jams once again confirm the familiar image of Cannes — glitter and glamour by the Mediterranean, with a logistical challenge quietly simmering underneath.
Every business visitor tries to stay as close as possible to the centre, preferably within walking distance of the Palais des Festivals. In recent years, a new solution has emerged: renting boats in the harbour directly opposite the conference venue.
No taxis. No buses. No lost time.
Just a short walk from cabin to conference badge.
What was once reserved for film stars during the Festival has now been embraced by executives and entrepreneurs. A quick change of clothes, followed by meetings on a sun-drenched deck overlooking the harbour. It suits Cannes perfectly — efficient, informal, and surprisingly calm amid the chaos.
Boat owners, including those with smaller sailing and motor boats, increasingly offer their vessels during conference weeks. Any practical inconveniences — such as the prohibition on using onboard toilets while in port — are neatly resolved by the harbour’s modern service facilities, with clean showers, toilets, washing and drying machines, and even vending machines. Privacy is reasonably well protected by physical security and extensive camera surveillance.
Over the past years, Cannes’ energetic mayor has given the city a complete facelift, preparing it for the demands of a new era of international events.
Vive la France.
Vive Cannes
